Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 1 to 3 years experience in Data Center Operations preferred.
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field.
Experience in a Unisys Operations or Mainframe environment preferred.
Experience and knowledge of RELATED management principles and methodologies.
Understanding of and experience with service level agreements
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
Excellent active listening skills.
Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
Strong analytic and decision making abilities.
Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

Job Description:
Operates and monitors computer equipment, actively participates in daily problem research and resolution. Duties include all operational functions of the department, periodic training and frequent testing of programs and procedures. Performs a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve on a daily basis Data Center related problems.
Communicate with user departments the appropriate technology related issues.
Escalates issues for resolution, to avoid reoccurrence or close problem .
Utilize technology to automate operations and improve efficiencies where feasible.
Operates and monitors the computer system(s) to ensure the online applications are running efficiently and effectively.
Catalogs magnetic media and maintains accurate libraries of backup tapes. Cycle the tapes to keep the most current available and forwards tapes to offsite storage.
Processes and balances the computer room teller work to ensure all work is processed and balanced.
Responsible for documenting changes to departmental procedures in regard to new releases or new implementations/conversions.
Field user questions and assist whenever possible.
Ensures compliance with FNFG privacy policy, code of ethics and ensures control items are properly maintained.
Understanding of the ACH processing, online ATM system, FTP file transfer and Synergy loads.
Ability to initiate and terminate the Miser online systems.
Examines and maintains files on the computer(s) for proper utilization and recovery. Able to restore files from backup tapes when requested.
Drive the implementation of corrective actions with cross-functional accountable parties.
Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
