The Computer Operator will provide support to business units on scheduled and ad hoc tasks. Tasks include the monitoring of application processes and overnight polling, server backups, executing program functions, off-site data storage, reports generation and problem solving. This person will perform daily systems backups and update the appropriate logs. S/he will prepare off-site backup tapes to be shipped to Iron Mountain on a weekly basis. The Computer Operator will provide basic maintenance and cleaning of all data center equipment. This person will be responsible for running month-end procedures and maintaining operational procedures as needed.

Job Requirements :
Associate degree desired. Must have at least 2 years experience in systems operations on MS Windows and Unix. Working knowledge of UNIX and MS Windows operating systems i.e. SSH, Remote Desktop required. Must be knowledgable in the administration of Veritas Netbackup jobs and media handling. Familiarity with Systems Job scheduler tools like Appworx, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel is essential. An understanding of networked environments i.e. VPNs, Router, Firewall and switches is required. Working knowledge of SQL is necessary. The successful candidate will be able to follow procedures efficiently with great attention to detail and must be willing to work a 2am-11am shift or 3:30pm-2:30am shift as needed. Retail industry experience is a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to work alone or as part of a team and will possess excellent problem and customer service resolution skills.
