Summary
The computer operator reports to the Manager of Computer Operations and is assigned to either the AM, PM, or Weekend shift. This position performs the daily computer operations tasks specified by the department’s periodic procedure list. These processes are to support the automatic functioning of the bank’s computer operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Submit and monitor daily jobs according to department generated checklist including batch processing, file transfer, and file and report generation, member notice generation/printing. Work closely with other employees to complete processes for other departments. Monitor results of intermediate processing steps to ensure error free operation. Perform close-of-business activity as appropriate. 45% essential.
Research and make corrections for simple error conditions. Complete general phases of sophisticated computer operations under guidance of higher level operator. Work with many third party software applications and core processing software interfaces to accomplish daily duties. 25% essential.
Apply understanding and knowledge of core processing application to assist internal users when problems occur. Coordinate referral to application vendor, when necessary, and follow up with vendor until problem is resolved. Troubleshoot and resolve internal help desk requests. 20% essential
Monitor operation of peripheral equipment - printers, tape drives, disk drives, optical jukeboxes. Mount/dismount other storage media and ensures proper labeling, storage and documentation. 10% essential.
Follows all compliance policies and procedures.
With access to vast amounts of sensitive non-public data, it is essential for the individual to maintain security awareness and high ethical standards.

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
