Technica LLC is seeking qualified candidates to fill technical support positions in support of the Joint Cooperative Unmanned Systems Initiative (JCUSI) at the United States Military Academy (USMA) West Point, NY. The positions are full time. Work is primarily located in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Work will also be conducted in the Robotics Development Trailer, which is used in field environments for robotic testing (laboratory/command center on wheels). The work is for 6 months in duration.
Computer system support by installing, managing, and maintaining JCUSI Project computer systems with emphasis on integrating systems with those normally found in Army command posts: FBCB2, Falcon View, CPOF, Joint Battlespace Command and Control System, etc.
Responsible for the installation, integration, operation, and maintenance of and assists in the system administration of the JCUSI Project computer and laboratory local area network systems.
Evaluate project requirements; make recommendations to ensure maximum use of computer assets, and advise and assist on their proper use.
Analyze and develop computer applications requirements, develop procedures to collect and process data and/or modify existing systems.
Perform system administration duties for JCUSI Project computer systems including performing system upgrades, monitoring system usage, and taking actions to maintain system software, resources, and security.
Isolate and correct system and network problems relating to hardware, system software, applications programs, damaged or lost files, system performance, etc.
Make quick fixes to system configuration to maintain system operation and availability.
Assist in developing computer programs used to track data fluctuations, provide general printer support, allow selective communication transmissions, provide updates to computer configurations for network communications, etc.
Assist with the maintenance and inputting data for the project website.
Recommends the best design approach using standard tools for effective web delivery of information to include the project collaboration on Defense/Army Knowledge Online and the project SharePoint sites.
provide formal and informal training seminars to cadet, faculty and staff personnel. Formal training includes, but is not limited to, software applications used within the project: ROS, Linux, iRobot Aware2 Developer, Vista Operating system software, digital device data capturing, video-computer-projection devices, LabView, MatLab and general system operations.
Prepare computer systems in robotic areas for cadet academic instruction in accordance with laboratory schedules.
Computer equipment used is functional for use and monitors performance as required during scheduled laboratory periods.
Respond to questions regarding equipment and component function.
Install, manage, and coordinate maintenance of the Robotics Development Trailer.
Work with the cadets and faculty research team to develop and refine the JCC. The tasks will include, but are not limited to, installing and configuring the JCC network; validating JCC HVAC and power protection schemes; configuration, installation, and integration of the various unmanned systems feeds into research project's database, visual display systems, and other command and control systems; and preparing for and conducting educational training events. As capabilities and requirements change, designs and implements expansion of both the hardware and software components.
Analyze, evaluate, and recommend system interrelationships, operating modes, systems software, and equipment configurations. The contractor shall develop the specifications necessary to interface the systems and software applications.
Shall troubleshoot system interface problems.
Conduct administrative and organizational tasks of various kinds associated with the project such as coordinating testing/integration with the other project teams on USMA, local entities on USMA, and project teams at the Air Force and Naval Academies; preparing demonstration sites and venues; and assisting cadets setting up the required wired/wireless data networks.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
Must be able to acquire and maintain a government security clearance, if required.
Must have knowledge of systems listed in above description.
Knowledge of standard materials, tools and equipment and skill in the use and care of tools.
Must have a minimum 5 years related experience.
Must have a minimum bachelors degree.
