The chief objective of this position is to support the day-to-day information technology needs of the Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer senior management area. The individual in this position will work with a team of information technology professionals to generate and maintain a robust, reliable, and secure computing infrastructure at multiple on-campus locations within this senior management area. The specific responsibilities of this position include: - Provide direct assistance to users with all aspects of computer operations including computer set-up, maintenance, problem resolution, and training - Looks for opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of IT processes and procedures by anticipating departmental needs and leveraging emerging technologies - Assist in ensuring the senior management is adequately protecting sensitive data by implementing established policies and practices, leveraging information security tools and promoting end user awareness and training - Special projects as assigned - Assist with the procurement and disposal of departmental assets - Assist with the configuration and administration of servers within supported departments - Create and maintain accurate system and end user documentation - Create and maintain departmental websites - Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with technologies and issues that will enhance performance and career development - Communicate with a broad range of users about technical topics at a level appropriate for the intended audience - Collaborate with peers to support initiatives which support the university's mission and strategic plan - Uphold the universal competencies of teamwork, maintaining a safe and secure work environment and diversity commitment

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education OR an equivalent level of training and experience; experience with hardware and software installation and maintenance in a Windows operating environment; experience with Microsoft office products; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently prioritize tasks; experience with common information security tools and practices; experience in user training and support; experience maintaining accurate and up to date system and user documentation; ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a university computing environment; server configuration and support experience; experience with Microsoft Group Policy; experience with web development tools and technologies (Dreamweaver, Content Management Systems, PHP, etc.); experience with hardware virtualization; experience with Ellucian's Banner system.
