The Computer Systems Administrator installs, configures, and supports an organization’s Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network, and Windows Server Systems. The Computer Systems Administrator is also responsible for monitoring and testing server performance to ensure servers operate correctly and without interruption. Additional duties consist of network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
•Manage various backups consisting of incremental, weekly full, and on-site and
•Manage print servers and network printers.
•Manage active directory, work stations, users list, and distribution list.
•Deploy servers with various roles.
•Apply updates and patches to servers.
•Manage Systems Insight Manager (SIM) for hardware failures and resolve
helpdesk tier 2 tickets.
•Monitors various networks and performs necessary maintenance to all system
users to ensure network availability.
Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
•Associates Degree in Information Systems, Bachelors Degree Preferred or
•Minimum of 2 to 4 years of verifiable experience in a Computer Systems
•Certification requirements per Department of Defense (DOD) Directive 8570.1
for IAT Level 2 is one of the following: Security Essential Certification (GSEC),CompTia Security+, Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
•Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Windows XP, and Vista.
•Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec Anti-Virus, Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL), SharePoint Server, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Wireless Distribution System, and Group Policy.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•Must be able to lift 20 lbs above head.
