The Computer Technical Specialist will provide Customer Service support for users’ computers, PDAs, and other data processing systems and hardware/peripheral support for systems on-site and off-site and preventative maintenance on installed computer equipment: Install, maintain, and modify hardware, operating systems, and applications to obtain maximum efficiency; recommend and provide basic computer training to eliminate commonly encountered problems; answer inquiries on procedures and policies related to departmental functions; track service requests in the University’s helpdesk database; maintain copies of all licenses, registration cards, serial numbers, and maintenance contracts/agreements ensuring accuracy and completeness; set up, install, troubleshoot, and repair software and hardware of networked or standalone computers; evaluate and recommend various software and hardware solutions to meet the users needs; provide support with the installation, problem diagnosis, and correction of hardware and software in a multi-operating system environment; perform multi-operating system administrative functions, including maintenance of user configurations; support users with various computing devises including, but not limited to PDA’s Windows business software, Mac business software, Smart Boards, and video conferencing equipment; create and maintain user network accounts and e-mail for the assigned area.

Regionally accredited Associate degree required. Preferable in Information System or Computer Technology related field. Three years experience in computer support including but not limited to: MS Windows – Vista desktop, Macintosh, LAN cards, modems, Novell Network, User Support and MS Office products. Certification as Network Technician. CNE/CAN, MCSE preferred or equivalent experience. Experience with PC, Macintosh, M/S Office, Great Plains, Citrix, IE, Firefox, Printers, Adobe products.
