Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist to join our growing team in Columbus, Mississippi. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
Job Qualifications (basic job description):
The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for the tracking and upkeep of the sites data packages, maintaining revision control, and acting as the gatekeeper for configuration change implementation.
Keep detailed control of configuration records including but not limited to:
3D Models and part drawings
Track input that is provided by each of the departments, using configuration management systems.
Analyze configuration data to verify configuration documents are prepared, reviewed, implemented, and closed.
Assist Engineering management to review received changes and contact the customer for clarification/advice when required.
Track and maintain lists of specifications used by program, and their revisions.
Update and maintain charts and/or text data for various departments, as required by program management.
Perform other job duties relative to data gathering and distribution as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
Minimum of 3 years work experience in in a fast paced office environment; preferably configuration management for the defense or aerospace industry, or equivalent work experience with configuration management, information management, technical publications or engineering. Basic knowledge of standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing and inspecting product environment is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Bill of Materials structures
- Able to multi-task on various projects, and maintain accuracy of data while doing so.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
- Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements: Some walking and standing and climbing stairs included in job.
Shift Requirements (specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required):
Some overtime may be required on occasion.
