Summary: This position is responsible for performing conflicts for prospective new business and lawyers for all US and international offices. This responsibility is shared with other CNB assistants in a team environment. Will also assist with other departmental functions that may need coverage, including client/matter maintenance, helpline phone coverage, and new business intake. This person should be available for overtime when required for daily and/or project work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze and enter search terms into our financial system (Elite) and run conflict searches for new work and new hires. Provide timely distribution of results to the requestor.Monitor requests for searches via phone and email from attorneys, assistants, and legal personnel department. Run and return results to requestor on a timely basis. Provide follow-up on search inquiries.Share responsibility for answering and covering the Conflicts/New Business Helpline (manned from 8 am to 7 pm by the department). Update department procedures as needed. Assist as back up or provide additional support for client/matter maintenance requests, New Business Forms processing, and locating engagement letters and other support documentation. Perform additional research as needed (Internet, corporate affiliations). Process and distribute periodic reports such as Restricted/Caution and Special list reports to ensure the Firm's data remain current.
