PetSmart currently has an opening for a Construction Coordinator at our corporate office located in Northwest Phoenix. The Construction Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Construction Director and Construction Managers to ensure successful completion and timely opening of all projects.

Job Duties:
•Responsible for all incoming and outgoing correspondence for all field activities
•Maintain all New Store construction files
•Responsible for bid recap for cost/bid comparisons
•Responsible for preparation of contractor and architect contracts/agreements
•Interface with architects to ensure timely receipt/approval of all submittals
•Assist accounting department with quarterly/annual CIP cost audits and upcoming disbursements for work completed through the prior quarter/year
•Monitor insurance and bond status of contractors and architects to guarantee compliance with PetSmart specifications
•Responsible for monitoring job costs and budget
•Process construction payment applications, architect invoices, escrow disbursements, wire transfers and all other miscellaneous invoices/check requests
•Track preliminary lien notices; lien waivers/releases; monitor change order status to ensure prompt approval/disapproval
•Process change orders for payment
•Responsible for DOP tracking/compliance
•Prepare and audit all final close-out costs and requirements
Experience/Education Required
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
•High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
•Minimum of three (3) years experience in a construction office environment with emphasis on organization and management
•Must be able to effectively understand and prepare contractual agreements with external vendors
•Able to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations
•Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
•Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
•Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and proportions and percentages
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
