Faithful+Gould is seeking candidates for the position of Construction Data Analyst for our office in downtown Minneapolis. The successful candidate will assist in the creation of cost intelligence information for our staff. This includes benchmark data, collecting and performing statistical analysis of industry data, and developing a Faithful+Gould price index for construction to be used by our Consultants.
This person needs to be excited about crunching numbers, analyzing data & statistics, and days full of mathematics. This position does allow for creativity but will be demanding.
Some typical duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Developing an agreed form of elemental cost analysis.
Develop and maintain a historical cost database for the property and industrial sectors.
Gathering details of bid projects from office contacts and documenting details in usable formats.
Analyzing all cost information and input of new projects into the database.
Creating and maintaining a series of cost and location indices that in turn will automatically update historic cost information to current date and location.
This position is suitable for someone who is an expert in Excel and also has background in the construction business possessing the ability to read blueprints. WBS knowledge is also a plus.
We will be considering local candidates only, you must currently be in daily commuting distance to our downtown office location.
We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field of study.
Superior knowledge of Excel – you will be a spreadsheet jockey, the resident expert in Excel.
You should have the ability to read blueprints and some knowledge of WBS.
Experience with Primavera or Microsoft Projects is preferred. Must be articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and good decision making abilities. Must have good communication skills.
Must generally understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
