The WJE Cleveland office is seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Construction Document Control Technician. This position supports a specific project expected to be approximately two to three years in duration. During that time, the Technician will work full-time in WJE’s Cleveland office on a project team as the primary manager of construction-phase documents related to multiple concurrent repair projects at sites nationwide.   • Coordinates all services with client's master schedule of bidding, award, and construction
  • Maintains a master register of all project submittals, RFIs, etc. during repairs
  • Performs preliminary review of submittals prior to routing to Team Leader for final review
  • Proactively tracks and seeks submittals and RFI responses that may be overdue
  • Prepares close-out correspondence or punch-list as appropriate for each site-specific project

  • Very organized, precise, and detail-oriented
  • General knowledge and familiarity with how buildings are put together
  • Knowledge and experience in general construction with emphasis on reading architectural and structural drawings; experience with steel construction and welding a plus
  • Computer savvy; experience and proficiency working with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and digital image files
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of professionalism, reliability, diplomacy, integrity, and flexibility
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant work experience
  • Associate’s degree and/or experience in construction technology, construction management, or a construction-related field is a plus
