Construction Superintendent- Southern California (Open Submission)

Our Construction Superintendent under the General Supervision of the Regional Operations Manager or General Manager, direct, manage, supervise and coordinate the work and activities of the various trade groups such as Carpenters, Laborers, Equipment Operators, etc. and Subcontractors on the site to meet the work requirements as described in the plans and specifications or the statement of work on the individual delivery order(s) or Contracts. Responsibilities include making sure that the work progresses according to the schedule, that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time, that the subcontractor is on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule, and that the activities of the various workers do not interfere with one another. The superintendent is the liaison and primary coordinator between the subcontractor, in house workforce, material suppliers and the client contact. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets California licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise on-site work to ensure the work is done completely and efficiently.
Order all required materials and interact with subcontractors and suppliers.
Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specification.
Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
Prepare daily progress reports for work performed.
Maintain and enforce safety regulations and building code requirements.
Organize and run weekly safety meetings with in house trade staff and subcontractor.
Organize and run weekly progress meeting and perform Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspection.
Assist with project estimates, bid packages and schedule preparation and budgets.

Construction Superintendent- Qualifications- Experience, Education and Certifications (Relevant experience may be substituted for any of the following– other qualifications may be considered as equivalents, at the discretion of the hiring authority)
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory construction experience
Minimum of two (2) years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
Proficiency in scheduling software
30 hr OSHA certifications
Current CPR/First aid certification
Construction related degree
Experience with Government contracting
Experience with vertical and horizontal construction
High attention to detail and quality workmanship
NAVFAC/USACE Quality Control certification
COE Contractor Quality Control Certificate
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate the work requirements with and various staff and subcontractors.
Ability to prioritize, organize and work well under stress and maintain deadlines.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.
Ability to follow direction is a must.
Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment.
Must have the ability to work within a high intensity work environment
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.

Field conditions prevail: Construction Superintendents perform some work in office trailer; the remainder of work required is performed outdoors or at the project location.
Travel will be required 50% of the time.
Coordinates, supervises and manages on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work.
Additional Qualifying Factors
Must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment and obtain access to military installations is required.
