Charged with the responsibility of all safe work execution, on a specific project or site by coordinating and scheduling in conjunction with a client representative and the project execution plan. Construction Superintendents have a minimum of 8 years of experience, and progressively more responsible experience in oil and gas and construction. At a minimum, 6 years of experience required in various supervisory positions. Directs General Foreman and supervisors in execution of major job requirements. Directs purchasing, subcontracting and administration in support of job requirements. Interacts with Transfield Services and Clients Health & Safety Department and Fire & Safety Representatives to ensure a safe work site and monitors proper compliance with all regulatory requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS
        Key Work Experiences/Education: High school education or equivalent Engineering or Bachelors Degree in Project Management or Business Preferred · Minimum of 8 years construction related experience . · Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Project Management, Shut Downs and general business operations in the Oil & Gas industry, Construction and alternative heavy industries. · Strong Financial skills, people skills, computer skills and demonstrates knowledge of local and state regulations Technical/Functional competencies required for selection: Safety: · Assure all Company and Client Policy and Procedures are being adhered to, including monitoring and training for all site P&P changes or updates. · Assure that safety performance is consistent with TRANSFIELD and Client’s goals. · Provide and monitor suggestions for improvement / safety programs. · Assure the Client’s site is sharing the near miss and best practice data reported from other TRANSFIELD Sites. · Hold employees accountable for safety violations or non compliance and make sure appropriate disciplinary action is followed. · Participate in daily and weekly safety meetings. · Participate in all Transfield R&E and Client Safety initiatives including new Safety training programs as available · Review and approve job specific safety plans · Participate in daily and weekly MFO and JHA Audits · Work with the Safety and training department to ensure employees are current and up to date on all required safety training. Human Resources: · Provide detailed forecasting of manpower/resource requirements. · Direct staffing department on specific resource needs. · Meet with new employees sent to the site to make sure employee has the right attitude, qualifications and skills required to perform tasks they may be assigned to. · Work with regional HR manager on HR related issues Project Execution: · Share best practices with Clients and Crews. · Strong field execution · Strong Piping and welding knowledge with some structural experience that knows how to set equipment. · Read Prints, qualified in rigging, Familiar with conveyor belts, bag houses and able to shoot elevations for equipment · Assure that budget and schedule expectations are realistic and are achieved. · Assure that Client’s location has all necessary resources to perform all work to meet there expectations. · Identify barriers and opportunities to implement best practices. Client Relations · Communicate with Client’s location contacts frequently to assure that all expectations are being met. · Assure that all expectations are defined prior to turnaround start dates and are being met. · Assure all resource requirements are documented and pre-approved by the client. · Champion change initiatives that will ultimately improve systems with in the refinery. Client Relations: · Communicate with Client location contacts daily to assure that all expectations are being met. · Champion change initiatives that will ultimately improve systems related to a project Quality Control: · Assure that Transfield and Client’s Quality Control procedures are utilized and consistent with common goals. · Address quality issues and take appropriate actions to eliminate future occurrences. · Develop matrix and measurements for tracking rework. Training: · Complete all TRANSFIELD’s annual Integrity Training Modules and participate in all other annual Management training offered · Ensure skills assessments and training programs are getting utilized to improve overall employee performance. Cost Reduction · Document and report any value-added performance of Transfield Services · Develop and implement incentive programs for identifying cost reductions. · Develop and implement cost savings ideas. · Develop and share cost savings synergies and opportunities for improvement with Client contacts. Challenges: Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to bend, squat and kneel. Must be capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air, and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, Nomex coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses. Must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may be up to seven days a week for extended duration’s of up to 8 weeks or more. Successful candidate must meet all conditions of Transfield Services Resources & Energy Drug and Alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment. Drug/alcohol screening is administered post-offer and pre-employment.
