The Consultant, Accounting Policy will participate as an integral team member in the Accounting Policy group in the Controller function.

Responsibilities may include:
Responsible for review of new or updated GAAP, including FASB and IFRS, assessing the impact, and developing implementation plans, as appropriate

Provide guidance and consultation to Finance management and Finance personnel globally to ensure compliance with both the GAAP accounting requirements and company policies and procedures

Review contracts, structured deals and other agreements to assess and provide guidance on the accounting impacts

Provide opportunity to be challenged and contribute in a fast paced environment


Legally authorized to work in the United States

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

CPA certification

5+ years of direct accounting experience

MS/MBA degree

Big 4 experience

Solid working knowledge of GAAP

Strong analytical skills with ability to review and resolve complex issues

Excellent oral and written communications skills, including experience in communicating complex accounting interpretations to Senior Management

Ability to progress multiple tasks concurrently and work independently

Strong organization and interpersonal skills

Ability to network and communicate globally

Energy industry exposure, preferably in exploration and production
