The role offers significant visibility as the primary technical consultant and resource in the NY region on all pharmacy benefit related issues. The Pharmacy Benefit Consultant will collaborate closely with National Pharmacy Benefit Practice Leaders, regional leadership and Segal benefits practitioners; providing deep technical analysis, peer review and expertise to pharmacy benefits-related client servicing initiatives. The position will support efforts to grow the revenue and profitability of our pharmacy benefits consulting business in the region. The right individual will have the opportunity to be a key contributor in a segment of our employee benefits business that is undergoing significant growth and viewed as being integral to the Company’s client value proposition.

The Role • Interacting and building consultative rapport with Segal health leadership, client relationship managers and technical analysts in the region. • Supporting the growth of Segal’s pharmacy consulting business across all regions by working with others to identify and cultivate existing and new client opportunities and; assisting with sales and marketing initiatives, including proposal writing. • Performing as the lead pharmacy benefit consultant on key accounts and pharmacy benefit related client assignments: (e.g., PBM RFPs, plan design, audits, negotiations, contract reviews, etc.) as needed. • Providing technical review and analysis of PBM data, contracts, financial arrangements and PBM program effectiveness. • Designing and delivering creative pharmacy benefit client solutions and plan designs. • Support National research and development efforts to advance pharmacy benefits-related tools and applications that advance consulting deliverables and services • Evaluate PBM operations and service issues including clinical trends, areas for improvement

Key Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the PBM industry with advanced PBM knowledge (mandatory); prior experience may include working within a PBM-related company, consulting firm and/or group insurance environment. • In-depth knowledge of PBM providers, products, services, financial, data reporting, contracting and negotiating elements and processes (mandatory). • Demonstrated technical/analytical and project management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal/client relationship, communication, presentation and negotiation skills; knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
