Sr. Manager, Media Strategy and Planning
The Media Planner is responsible for maximizing the impact of global advertising campaigns by combining creative thinking with factual analysis to develop appropriate strategies to ensure that campaigns reach their target audiences as effectively as possible. The Media Planner will apply knowledge of media and communication platforms to identify the most appropriate mediums for building awareness of the Life Technologies’ brand. Serving as the primary liason between Life Technologies and the advertising agency, facilitate collaboration amongst marketing leadership, and alignment of media plans to the Corporate business objectives.
Partner with internal business partners to understand their business objectives and advertising strategy Liaise with the creative services team, business partners and consumers to develop media strategies and campaigns Apply a global perspective to media planning, making recommendations based upon best practices, channels and geographies Be up to date on the latest digital media platform and ideas, and apply them where appropriate Undertake research and analyze data using specialist industry resources. Develop and maintain response data and communicate to key stakeholders Presenting proposals, including cost schedules, to business partners and leadership team Work with colleagues, other departments and media buyers either in-house or outside agencies Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform future campaigns Develop strong and effective media plans based on sound strategies and research. Work with creative department on ad development to ensure media and creative strategies work in harmony Work with internal business partners to ensure plans are on strategy and meet their objectives Develop and execute a comprehensive and fully integrated digital strategy Organize all digital media activities to ensure consistency of strategic direction; integrate digital activities with traditional marketing efforts + CRM Integrate traditional efforts with digital media advertising efforts while working with various lead roles internally as well as with our agencies and various partners Communicate the efforts of the Interactive Marketing department goals and strategies to the team in terms that they can understand and get buy in and support from company constituents Responsible to maintain and achieve media budget targets
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing (Advertising preferable)
7+ years experience in media planning, buying and media strategy.
5+ experience in online marketing advertising, interactive and digital, including experience from basic mediums (SEM, display, email, etc.) to advanced mediums (social media, mobile, video, rich media and advanced targeting
Strong plan development skills; category research, targeting, goals and projections.
Ability to problem solve, develop creative media solutions Strong analytical skills, understand and interpret media research/ analytics Ability to identify and define marketing problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to analyze results and make recommendations in line with business partners’ goals
Ability to work in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment and under tight deadlines
Demonstrated background in managing people and projects effectively
High attention to detail through proofing, follow through, and scheduling
Strong leadership and influence skills, as well as demonstrated ability to facilitate across multiple departments
Expertise in digital media
Experience in media planning for global brands
