This is a hands-on technically focused consulting level position within the Revenue, Benchmarking, and Analytics development team. The position is responsible for implementing and supporting Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) using HCA IT&S enterprise data integration tool called DMExpress. In addition, the team’s skill sets are expanding to encompass QlikView to support staff augmentation with business partners.
A qualified candidate must demonstrate a history of successful execution using one or more data integration tools such as SQL Server Integration Services, Data Stage, Informatica, DataFlux or similar. Direct DMExpress experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge and prior successful implementation using one or more Business Intelligence reporting tools is also preferred.
The successful candidate will have the ability to review requirements and craft technical design documentation that allows for future scalability, interoperability, and reduced maintenance. The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities. The candidate must demonstrate a clear history of technical growth and positively inspiring teams toward their goals.
The candidate will be responsible in maintaining support for one or more third-party applications and includes product installation, configuration, testing, upgrades, and patch releases. The candidate will partner with system engineers and the vendor in the design, configuration, and future capacity of the related infrastructure.
Interpret business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications
Extensive knowledge and expertise in using the DMExpress tool set to develop and test complex Extract Transform and Load (ETL) routines that meet enterprise coding standards and best practices
Mastery of ANSI SQL across one or more relational database platforms
Create and maintain complex UNIX scripts and parameter files necessary to the ETL processes
Cross train across many business intelligence tools and expand beyond data integration into data modeling, data warehousing, and reporting
Application & Systems Administration
Install and/or upgrade third-party software on various hardware platforms and operating systems
Knowledge/proficiency with Windows 2003-2008 server systems and some administration
Collaborative design & development with system engineers for root cause analysis
Support of physical database implementation required by third-party software
Develop technical drawings that illustrate abstract technical concepts, architectures, infrastructures and strategies
On-call support for production systems and job streams, some 7x24 on-call support
Troubleshoot, coordinate, assist, and advise in recovery from application failures
Some programming skills would be helpful – Shell scripting, Windows scripting, .NET
Ability to collect and analyze performance metrics
Project Management and Team Building
Lead medium and large scale development projects involving multiple departments
Build strong relationships within the department, with other technical people, and with our business partners.
More than 7 years related experience
College Graduate Preferred
Software Development Skills:
Data integration tools, Unix Shell Scripting, Relational database management systems, and Data Modeling.
Windows Operating System (XP, 2000\2003 server, IIS,WINS,DHCP)
Experience with one or more of the following: SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Teradata
Experience with one or more of the following: QlikView, Microstrategy, Business Objects Dashboard Builder and/or Excelcius, Cognos, SQL Reporting Services
Knowledge about healthcare revenue cycle, patient accounting, contract modeling, and/or costing.
Experience in leading off-shore sourcing activities with ability to speak and communicate in native Indian languages.
Must be willing and able to travel as necessary to support operations based in multiple overseas locations.
