Consumer Fraud Director
, NC or Detroit, MI
Ally Financial's Risk function manages and analyzes Ally’s exposure to internal and external risk factors. The function strives to achieve an appropriate balance between risk and return, to limit unnecessary risk, and to protect the company’s financial returns.
Lead establishment and management of Auto Fraud strategies and policies for Ally Consumer Auto.
Responsible for the regional fraud performance on the Ally Consumer Auto portfolio.
Responsible for the development and monitoring of verification strategies
Build and or monitor a superior Prevention, Detection and Deterrence fraud management program
Ensure ‘best in class’ fraud processes, infrastructure and tools are utilized to accurately identify and manage fraud risk.
Build fraud awareness, education and alert notification processes
Communicate portfolio performance, initiatives and threats to senior management and portfolio teams, through a regularly established communication rhythm of executive summaries, dashboards and portfolio reviews.
Manage the portfolio at the highest level of visibility and rigor through the development and management of operational and executive metrics.
Ensure global standards, policies and ‘best practices’ are being utilized effectively.
Operating in a matrix and in partnership with the compliance and AML functions.
Build and maintain relationships within business units to ensure effective influencing in order to meet Fraud Risk goals.
Work cross functionally and with other risk departments to build enterprise risk management practices.
Represent Fraud Management team on risk assessments and treatment plan development for new products and business growth opportunities.
Demonstrates a superior understanding of fraud risk management.
Competent writer of corporate policies and communications.
Must have an understanding and commitment of the continuous business improvement process.
Must have the analytical ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans.
Possesses a strong knowledge of regional fraud, compliance and risk challenges and environment.
Education and experience requirements:
Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree
8-10 years of fraud risk management experience in a retail banking or financial services environment
Individual must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Individual must be an effective change agent with highly developed problem-resolution skills.
Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and initiate proactively.
