The Mobile Technology Manager is a full-time position in NBC Universal's Emerging Media Technology Team within Digital Products & Services and will be the technical manager for all supported mobile & consumer platforms and tools including mobile web, epublishing, messaging, video, and applications on behalf of all NBCU brands and business units including SDK analysis, technical design documentation review, vetting vendor capabilities, and technical support.
Other responsibilities will include:
Lead technical analysis of SDK releases for iOS, Android, and all other mobile platforms by crafting documentation, prototyping examples of capabilities where appropriate, and evaluating relevance to NBCU brands.
Manage all tools sets including tracking, application code repositories, ad systems, testing platforms, and establish future tool support as needed.
Technical reference for evaluating quality assurance issues on supported platforms.
Understand and support all NBCU mobile platform technical implementations, including all integration points with internal and 3rd party systems.
Subject matter expert and reference for all mobile technical requirements including drafting & reviewing developer technical design documentation.
Support mobile video, application, messaging, and web technology strategies including advising product managers on technical capabilities and businesses on currently available technologies in the space.
Manage independent projects from inception, definition, implementation, and follow-on releases.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to communicate mobile technology capabilities, namely NBCU brands, Digital Distribution, and O&TS Tech Production, Operations, Engineering and Business Development & Analysis teams.
Provide ongoing analysis to monitor product/program effectiveness, including operational and business performance working closely with Ad Sales, Ad Operations, Digital Distribution, Research and other stakeholders.
Understand technical requirements for new video, application, and mobile web products and services, including creating appropriate feeds, (MRSS, RSS, XML, etc.) device capabilities, appropriate application languages (objective C, Java) and delivery mechanisms.
Perform comprehensive, detailed and continuous assessment of industry trends, stakeholder requirements, opportunities, business operations and partner value propositions
Support technical analysis of business requirements from cross-functional internal teams for RFP’s and contribute to partner evaluations together with the Director of Mobile Products.
Aid internal Digital Products & Services product development with technical mobile requirements and expertise where applicable, including defining technical requirements, coding feeds, and identifying current and future technical solutions for various mobile platforms.
Manage internal communication of mobile technology industry information and its relevance/impact to NBCU (market trends, new players/codecs/OS/SDK releases enhancements, etc.) to Digital Products & Services team and larger NBCU business community.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
1-2 years’ experience with technical implementations and system architecture of mobile technologies
Minimum 2 years work experience within the mobile industry working directly on one or more of the following: Messaging, Web, Video, Applications
Minimum 2 years work experience within the media/television industry
Technical knowledge of mobile platforms and infrastructure including the ability to code in: Objective C, Java, Brew, HTML 5, create RSS/MRSS/XML feeds and understand device capabilities.

Experience working directly with business stakeholders to understand their needs, capture requirements, and build product plans.
Experience/familiarity with Mobile Carrier, Device manufactures, and Broadband Enabled Devices (Xbox, RoKu, Boxee, etc).
Strong aptitude and desire to work in the ever-changing world of mobile and consumer platform technologies
Passion for mobile and consumer platform technology and for television programming in general
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
