Plans and manages implementation activities worldwide for:
Launches of all new product. The Implementation role is formalized in Product Development Process. Implementation plans may be retained in Design History File and later audited by regulatory agencies.
Product changes that affect the customer use of product, such as instrument modifications, product configuration changes, media releases.
Routine updates of Customer Documentation (IFUs, Manuals, package and other labeling)
Corrections to Customer Quality issues including recalls, field corrections, customer documentation updates, and customer letters. Implementation Plans and resulting documents are part of formal compliance files and often audited by regulatory agencies.
Discontinuance of product offerings
Leads cross-functional Implementation Teams with representatives from R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance, Operations, Demand and Supply Planning, Customer Service, Customer Technical Services, and other organizations as necessary to:
Develop strategies to execute complex implementations
Assure successful implementations through functional participation in planning and implementing launches and changes
Managing changes to plans by synchronizing activities for all participants.
Communicate status of implementations to all company stakeholders regularly
Is accountable for successful implementations
Achieves results through members of Implementation teams and other exempt-level employees, with significant latitude and independence. Achieves results through knowledge, experience, trust, and credibility without direct organizational authority.
Frequently works directly with Director and other higher-level functional leaders to solve problems and remove barriers.
Errors or lack of timely action would result in delays of critical new product launches, recalls and other field action corrections, with significant financial and/or compliance impact.
Achieves results through the implementation team members who report organizationally outside the Implementation Department.
Minimal travel is required.
Adequate experience to lead complex technical implementations confidently.
At least 5 years experience in a regulated medical products company
Strong leadership and planning skills, especially project planning.
Proficiency of skills above would typically require 8+ years of work experience
4-year college degree. MBA helpful.

Reports to: Director, Global Publications, Communications, and Implementation
Peers: Supply Chain Mgr, Commodity Mgr., Technical Publications Mgr.
