Key Responsibility: Sourcing, development and production of content for weekly financial services radio show, website and other areas; coordination and support of special marketing projects as needed.

Research and develop topics for weekly radio show

Source, research, and book guests for radio show; manage travel logistics as needed

Write guest introduction for read on radio; develop initial interview questions

Create, manage and maintain all content elements for radio show, website and other marketing venues

Ensure all content and copy is consistent and supports overall tone, direction and brand of company and show

Understand geographical markets served and regional colloquialism, as needed, to ensure content meets goals for all listeners, clients and prospects

Understand what is needed to engage the listeners, clients and prospects and incent them to return to future radio shows, return to website and/or contact a Mutual Fund Store advisor

Develop radio content that includes strategies for listeners can act on, and that will drive listeners to contact their local Mutual Fund Store office

Manage radio content production and piece development from concept to post production.

Manage and maintain weekly calendar of deliverables and project plan for every show

Manage and maintain project calendar for all program deliverables

Present progress reports on web and show ideas and content at weekly production and marketing meetings

Delivery of a branded radio show that reinforces The Mutual Fund Store’s ability to help the individual investor

Support radio host by providing talking points, research and background for all topics that will be presented on air

Develop value-added pieces for website that helps the show listeners, clients and prospects learn more about the show topics

Create show promotions and teasers, for website and on-air broadcast, that informs weekday listeners, clients and prospects about upcoming show topics

Research and arrange key interviews to support weekly show topics and website content

Prepare interview questions and provide radio host with background information on new show topics

Manage radio show’s e-mail box to gather questions and topic inquiries sent in for on-air discussion

Continually gather information and ideas for show and website content, interviews and topics

Utilize social media to inform followers about the company, the show, our topics, additional pieces and interviews

Work closely with radio production team, web developer, and Communications Manager, on all areas of content, ads, teasers and production of pieces

Research, monitor, and report on topics and communications from competing radio programs and companies

Work closely with, and vet all content through, the Compliance department before releasing for production or posting to website

Meticulously monitor changes to content, whether through regular editing, compliance review or during the production phase, to ensure message is correct, consistent and in compliance with SEC and FTC regulations as well as The Mutual Fund Store brand and direction

Special projects as assigned

Required Skills

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

The ability of come up with unusual or clever ideas on given topics and situations; the ability to be creative and develop new ways to present standard ideas and concepts

Ability to break down complex topics to make them entertaining and simple to understand

The ability to understand the audience and how content might be interpreted; able to tell when something is likely to go wrong with approach, delivery, or content itself

Speaks up when needed to alert and inform others of issues

A strong understanding of the financial markets and the issues that face the individual investor

Past experience with production equipment a plus

Exceptional eye for detail and consistency

Organized, self-starter, completes work with minimal supervision

Strong work ethic – attendance, timeliness, meeting deadlines, accepting new challenges

Required Experience

4+ years experience in a marketing/communications role within the financial services industry

Experience with creative content development

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Technical Writing or related area

Proficiency with both Mac and PC computers and related word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and creative software
