We are looking for a content marketing guru to take full responsibility for the design and production of all App Annie Market Insights content. The role of this person will be to utilize App Annie data to educate the business world on the real and breaking trends in the apps and digital goods economy. The Content Marketing Associate will be the key fulcrum between Corporate Communications and Market Insights, taking all the insights, reports, decks, whitepapers created by a team of top analysts and packaging them up into compelling, "made for audience" content through sharp copywriting, creative data visualization, and a knack for producing or managing the production of well-designed materials.
You'll need to package up this content for the audiences of media outlets ranging from Mashable to WSJ, AdAge to Variety. And the headlines you'll be breaking through your content will include everything from Japan overtaking the US in app store revenues to covering the meteoric rise of the Google Play Store. You will report to the VP of Worldwide Corporate Communications in San Francisco. Your responsibilities will include:
Write compelling blog posts and articles about the global app economy trends, bringing in news and secondary research from third-party sources as well as App Annie Intelligence data.
Be responsible for the design and production App Annie's flagship reports such as the App Annie Index and the App Annie-IDC State of Portable Gaming.
Be responsible for managing the Market Insights team's content on the App Annie blog.
Create all App Annie PowerPoint presentation decks for industry events including the likes of GDC, Mobile World Congress, MobileBeat and ad: tech.
Brief designers to create visually compelling report titles, infographics, custom charts, rankings tables, and branded white papers.
We are looking for someone who combines a passion for apps with an eye for data visualization. We're not looking for your standard content marketer. Rather, the ideal candidate will have a specific passion for data and the presentation of data to tell compelling stories about what is going on in the digital content economy. You have an addiction for consuming infographics, whitepapers, charts and trends. You possess both an excellent understanding of numbers and a good sense of how to tell stories using various visualized data.
2-4 years of experience in a content marketing, research or editorial role involving some kind of data visualization
Advanced level competence in Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentational software
Good sense of design with intermediate level competence in Photoshop and other graphics software (you'll be briefing designers for the more taxing design work)
Good industry knowledge of the internet, technology, apps and digital content spaces
Excellent copywriting skills - you can effortlessly write copy that is as compelling for Wall Street as it is for Hollywood
Basic HTML / CSS ability a major plus - otherwise, these skills can be learned
Excellent ability to multi-task and manage projects
Passion for data visualization and a good innate understanding of the meaning of numbers and data
