Continuous Improvement Manager Scope of Position

This position is

responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement initiatives through the

organization. This position will provide leadership, planning, technical

direction, communication and coaching skills to ensure safe production of high

quality products and services to meet customer needs in the most cost effective

manner.

Leadership:

Drive

the project performance to meet the Business Goals and Objectives set by Senior

Operations Management.
·
Provide
Leadership and Direction for Continuous Improvement projects.
·
Give
guidance on Continuous Improvement Leadership, Philosophy, and Approach and how
to develop a culture of full employee engagement.
Reports to: Director, Quality Control
Division/Department: Operations & Maintenance/Quality Control
Location: Flexible
Classification: Exempt
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. A majority of time is spent in the office,
working at a desk, utilizing standard office equipment, including but not
limited to computer, calculator, test equipment, etc. There will also be travel, site visits, and
shop work required in developing projects.
Responsibilities
·
Drives
Continuous Improvement to quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs,
quality, and service. Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in
all departments.
·
Train
and educate the organization and implement continuous improvement methodologies
such as 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean or other methods to measure improvement and monitor
processes and others.
·
Ensures
product quality while establishing and managing systems for “right first time” performance
and incorporates this philosophy in the continuous improvement teams.
·
Focused
on organization wide issues and inter-department initiatives including developing
synergies and business opportunities to optimize organizational goals.
·
Work
with Business Unit Leadership Teams to improve processes through the execution
of Kaizen, DMAIC, PDCA, or other improvement methods while also focusing on
eliminating wastes.
·
Assist
in developing strategic action plans toward process change and business
evolution through change strategies including tracking downtime results,
improving data integrity and developing improvement plans based on the data.

Champion
and execute events in conjunction with local leadership.
·
Other
job duties as assigned by their Manager or his/her designee.

Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s
Degree in Engineering or Management Preferred; Lean experience required
·
Minimum
of three- years related experience.
·
Experience
with leading teams and able to drive and lead change.
·
Excellent
analytical skills, organization, and interpersonal skills.
·
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills required.
·
Fluent
with various Microsoft software programs including but not limited to Word,
Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and various Continuous Improvement tools.
·
SAP
and SharePoint experience preferred
·
Highly
motivated, self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
·
Ability
to travel as requested.
