The Contract Staff Pharmacist position provides medical leadership, oversight and management of human clinical trials through partnership with Operational and Project Management teams and while ensuring the integrity of studies and the safety and well-being of human subjects. Performs duties in accordance with company's values, policies, and procedures.
Assist the Director of Pharmaceutical Services with the implementation and overall use of pharmaceutical agents and related materials.
- Review protocols and investigator brochures to determine the feasibility and issues related to the proper use of pharmacological agents in proposed studies.
- Works in conjunction with other staff members to create, document, and implement procedures necessary for proper investigational drug use in study protocols.
- Conduct either blinded or unblinded studies while maintaining records and information in strict confidence from blinded staff as appropriate and/or directed by the study protocol.
- Train and supervise staff as needed to support the successful operation of Pharmaceutical Services.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent.
Preferred: Doctorate degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, and completion of a residency and/or fellowship training.
Candidates must possess a current unrestricted licensed pharmacist in the State of California.
Candidates must possess at least six months experience with the typical level of practice in an inpatient setting, including sterile compounding and possess familiarity with basic principles of pharmacology and medicine.
Familiarity with current good clinical practice standards and the regulations of the DEA, FDA, ICH and other agencies; prior experience within a clinical research group; prior experience with preclinical or laboratory research; and prior experience within the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
