Contract Technician II Performs routine contract and/or grant technical assistance. Work involves preparing and reviewing contract and/or grant material, verifying billings for fiscal accuracy and completeness, and preparing reports on contract and/or grant development. May train others. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Essential Job Functions:
Maintains expenditure ledgers and statistical information on each contract and/or grant. Maintains contract or grant file information. Provides technical assistance in the development and preparation of contracts, grants and amendments. Provides contract agencies with changes in eligibility criteria and forms. Provides assistance to contract agency staff on eligibility, policy, documentation and billing procedures. Prepares reports for contract agency, executive staff and federal partners.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of office practices and administrative activities. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping or budget/cost tracking. Skill in MS office products (MSWord, Excel,Outlook, etc.) Skill in effective written and oral communication with peers, team members, contractors,and management. Ability to handle multiple, overlapping assignments. Ability to prioritize activities.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Selection Criteria:
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Skill in the use of office machines and equipment. Skill in the use of a computer and software applications. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Skill in compiling information in a variety of formats for diverse audiences.
