Contract/Freelance/Temp Technical Designer- Children's SWEATERS
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY PLEASE! POSITION LOCATED OUT OF OUR FRAMINGHAM CORPORATE OFFICES AND CANNOT BE PERFORMED FROM A REMOTE LOCATION.
Based on a design concept, develops and communicates fit and specification requirements to vendors in the form of a Product Data Management (PDM) Technical report with clear and accurate descriptions of construction, detailed sketches, specific measurements and graded specifications
Works with agents and factories in order to ensure that all garment specifications meet the company’s sizing and construction standards. Reviews all fit/production samples received from the vendors for compliance with construction standards, fit and sizing. Recommends any changes to the garments, ensuring that all shipments of merchandise will meet specifications. Approves specifications for bulk production.
Independently travels overseas to work with Agents and Vendors to fit garments, build relationships and develop strong working partnership
Manages fit sessions utilizing fit models in order to assess garment specifications. Meets with the Manager of Product Development and Program Manager on a consistent and timely basis in order to ensure that problems or concerns are promptly resolved
Provides appropriate direction and support to associates. Sets goals and measures progress against them. Conducts performance reviews through ongoing feedback and documentation Develops strong customer service and working relationships with Agents, Buyers, Vendors and other inter-departmental associates
Regularly evaluates vendor performance, giving feedback to the Sourcing group concerning vendor issues and recommends solutions
Special projects as assigned
Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent work experience
MUST HAVE 2-5 years experience in specing, fitting and grading Children's FASHION garments
BACKGROUND IN SWEATERS!
Strong technical and pattern making background
PC skills with an expertise of WEB PDM and Excel a plus.
International travel experience
Management experience needed
Strong organizational and follow through skills
Able to work well in a team environment and handle multiple projects
