The Contracts Attorney will be responsible for overseeing SEI’s vendor management program. The successful candidate will be responsible for (1) reviewing, negotiating and drafting vendor contracts and (2) assisting in regulatory compliance with respect to vendor management. The Contracts Attorney will have frequent interaction with internal SEI product/service buyers in most business units within SEI and will deal directly with outside vendors. As such, this person must have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
The Contracts Attorney will have the following responsibilities:
Draft, negotiate and review all of the company’s significant agreements with vendors and third party service providers, including non-disclosure agreements, professional services agreements, outsourcing agreements, software licenses, data licenses and development agreements
Advise internal clients on both legal and business issues in vendor deals
Participate in company-wide vendor management project office
Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
Enforce best practices and company standards for contract terms and conditions in all major types of contracts
Participate in various corporate committees related to vendor oversight and risk management
Support human resources and immigration issues related to vendors
Populate and maintain vendor contract files
Coordinate vendor management training sessions
A Minimum of three (3) years of contracts experience
Familiarity with software, technology, development, data license and professional services contracts
Effective writing and speaking skills
Advanced Microsoft Word, eRoom and Worksite skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Adobe Acrobat Writer
Ability to prioritize work and business needs
Comfort with a dynamic, often-changing environment
Must be a detail oriented, flexible team player
Must possess a high degree of multi-tasking capability
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
