This position can be a Salary Grade A02 or Salary Grade A03 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. This position is an IDS Contracts position working within the Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Business Area with 2013 projected Sales >$2B. Primary responsibilities will include supporting the Taiwan Patriot Business Area, which has 2013 projected Sales of greater than $450M, as a Contracts negotiator for Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Patriot Production, Spares and Technical Assistance Contracts with the U.S. Army Contracting Command - Redstone (ACC-R) totaling > $2B in contract value.
Duties will include participation in front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Candidate must be able to readily adapt in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The Contract Professional supporting this key business area is responsible for management of the customer relationship, the provision of business counsel and leadership to the Program Management Teams, together with expedited proposal, negotiation and/or definitization of contracts that are critical to IDS and IAMD Programs.
Two or more years directly related experience in U.S. Government contract administration, finance, proposal preparation, contract negotiation.
Working knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition and related regulations, e.g. FAR, DFARS, and ITAR
Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements
Effective communicator both orally and in writing; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations.
Must have the ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust.
Must be capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently
Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
Familiarity with the Integrated Contract Management System (ICMS)
Knowledge of basic financial business principles and an understanding of applicability to contracts and business
Strong business acumen with the ability to recognize risk elements in business transactions
