POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be responsible for typical controller duties as well as financial reporting, planning and analysis, reporting to the CFO

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Oversee general ledger and direct monthly accounting close, including review of trial balances and specific revenue and expense account detail.
Prepare monthly financial reporting, including proactive analysis to enable improved business results.
Oversee accounts receivable function.
Oversee accounts payable function.
Oversee purchasing function, including purchase order and expense reporting activities.
Oversee cash forecasts, including release cash disbursements and determining cash requirements.
Oversee financial system (company currently uses Intacct)
Coordinate annual audit and tax return completion with financial advisor.
Coordinate business plan completion and periodic updates.
Work closely with operating management to monitor project status and profitability, as well as evaluate new opportunities.
Completes other assignments as required and/or assigned.

Education:
Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance. CPA certification required. Graduate degree a plus.

Experience:
Ten to fifteen years of experience, with three to five years audit-related experience, and at least five years of experience in the private sector with responsibilities consistent with the Principal Duties described above.
Experience with SaaS businesses, ideally those with significant configuration projects where project forecasting and measurement are important.
Experience with cloud-based accounting systems a plus (Company uses Intacct and Salesforce CRM).

Specific Skills:
Proven skills in project accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis and account analysis, financial planning and analysis and cash forecasting.
Intermediate level of computer training and experience.
Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and accounting software required. Will be trained on other software programs used and specific procedures.
Special knowledge, licenses, etc.
Thorough understanding of GAAP.

Working understanding of corporate tax rules, benefit reporting requirements, financial software applications, commercial loan underwriting, and payroll processing and taxes.
Knowledge of the structure, implementation and monitoring of internal controls.
Continual education through professional journals, literature, and attendance at appropriate seminars and conferences.
Experience with fast-growing SaaS concern a plus.
Tax experience a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will supervise several individuals directly.
