G enerations Family Health Center, Inc. is a regional community health center covering a 33 town rural region in eastern Connecticut with sites located in Willimantic, Danielson and Norwich. Our dedicated staff provides a full range of preventative and primary care medical services to all ages including health maintenance of chronic diseases, 24 hour on call, hospitalization coverage and patient case management, as well as complete dental services at our Willimantic site and through ACROSS THE SMILES, a mobile dental program operating in the Northeast and Windham service area.

LOCATION: Willimantic, CT

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will lead all day-to -day finance operations and supervise a team of 2 staff members, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and grants administration. The Controller will assure that Company has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct clean audits. The Controller will work closely with program managers, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the Finance function can support program operations.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements

Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and program budgets and actual expenditures.

Coordinate all audit activity
·
Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of Company’s financial status.

Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results and explain variances

Support the CFO in engaging the board’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.

Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/ fund period; collate financial reporting materials for funding source and regulatory agencies.

Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the senior leadership to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.

Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investments guidelines.
·
Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization, create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
·
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
·
Minimum of Bachelors degree, Master’s degree a plus. CPA trained or CPA strongly preferred.
·
Mature leader with 5-10 years of accounting and finance experience, ideally in health care and/or non-profit industry; preferably in complex organization with multiple programs
·
Experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and funding sources
·
Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll and accounting for cash and investments
·
Knowledge and experience in third party health care reimbursement, Medicaid and Medicare cost reporting
·
Established track record in state and federal grants management and reporting
·
Strong analytic, organizational and problem solving skills with ability to develop and understand simple reporting through strategic data analysis
·
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with others
·
Strong proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
