Principle Duties: A proactive team member of the Service Center Staff who is responsible for the management of the day to day and monthly financial operations to include General, Cost and Inventory Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables. Responsibilities will also include Human Resources, I/T, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, and other miscellaneous office services functions. Provides guidance necessary to plan for and achieve Service Center Financial Objectives. Participates in the general management of the plant. Provides assistance to: Service Center Manager in regard to financial and operating matters. Marketing and Sales Managers in regard to financial matters. Service Center Staff and other center operating personnel on financial and operating matters and is an active participant in the center Lean Improvement Process. Establish basic operating procedures within accounting to provide efficient and timely fulfillment of: Regular monthly closings. Cycle and/or annual physical inventory count, observation and valuation. Development and maintenance of costs and costing procedures. Development, preparation and review of plant related project authorization requests (PARs). Payroll and labor reporting. Vendor payments. Collection of customer accounts. Annual operating plans and budgets and revisions as required. Routine and ad hoc financial reports as requested for management. Interpret financial statements and reports for responsible managers. Implements and enforces company financial policies as they relate to the center. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of financial practices and procedures. When necessary, make recommendations to the Services Controller necessary to insure adequate internal controls and accurate reporting in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles. Coordinates the overall development of the annual center business plan among center and group personnel. Monitors and reports on Capital programs and projects within the center as to their financial activity and results and conducts post audits as needed. Participates in the Power Services mission, vision goals and objectives as they relate to the center. Coordinates the Human Resource and I/T activities through the appropriate Power Services personnel as required.
Relationships and Authority: Reports directly to the Service Center Manager and has a functional (dotted line) relationship to the appropriate functional Power Services manager. Works with center staff and other personnel on a wide range of activities. Has a close working relationship with sales and customer service personnel on centers businesses. Works closely with Power Services Controller on planning, forecasting and special projects. Works closely with Group Financial Accounting on reporting, transaction processing, system and procedural matters. Works closely with the Power Services Human Resource manager with regard to hiring, benefit administration and compliance. Works closely with the Power Services and Power Systems I/T managers on the development and integration of all systems. Experience/Education: BS Degree plus five years related-experience or equivalent experience EOE
