Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, has executive responsibility for the Financial Accounting and Reimbursement Departments of the Medical Center.
Knowledge & Skills:
Required to make decisions affecting multiple departments of the Medical Center as a whole. Handles sensitive financial, patients and employee information. Required to interact with all levels of hospital personnel and with external business associates of the Medical Center. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Confidential Information: Financial Accounting data is to be held in strict confidence. Disclosure of such information could damage the Medical Center and or lead to legal action. Disclosure of information could lead to termination of the employee.
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and North Austin Medical Center.
College graduate, accounting or business administration
CPA not required, but preferred
Financial Skills need to be strong.
5 years in hospital setting preferred, 5-10 years in healthcare preferred; Healthcare Controller experience preferred, without it, need at least 10 years healthcare accounting experience, preferably in financial analysis.
