Responsible for financial operations and processes in a dynamic growth environment with operations in multiple states with multiple profit centers. Controller will report directly to CEO and work as a member of the management team, helping address overall business issues.
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
Oversee the accounting operations of field operations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies/procedures
Participate with the executive management team in communicating the company’s strategic goals throughout the company and actions required to achieve these goals. This includes working with the President and other managers to maintain and strengthen the company’s culture of serving customers, setting high performance standards and creating a great work environment for strong contributors.
Lead the organizations transition from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics GP
Providing accurate and timely information for decision- making to management team is essential.
Providing management and financial analysis of historical performance, as well as analytics for future performance is expected.
Train and develop staff, systems and process support for the company’s over-all growth opportunities.
Oversee the year end closing of the corporate books and all appropriate tax filings
Manage banking relationship in regards to both credit facilities and the operational products and services.
Continue to refine and improve the company’s utilization cost model and apply to pricing and commission models to maximize sales and profitability
Oversee the financial parts of any acquisitions by the company and take a leadership role in the negotiations and consummation of such transactions.
Provide ongoing assessment of systems, process and procedures and recommend changes needed to optimize all related business functions.
Lead the companies external relationships with accountants, insurers and other external firms
Primary point of contact for accounting reconciliation of commission payments to host venues
Strengthen the management information generated by the company, especially in the area of sales reporting and tracking.
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiation.
Complies with federal, state and local requirements, enforcing adherence to agents, filing necessary reports, advising management on needed changes
Minimum Skill Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in financial software including QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP
Experience in leading financial system conversion
Developing standards & financial analysis
Strong aptitude for managing processes
Ability to work as a team in a creative environment
Attention to detail
Roll up your sleeves attitude
Microsoft Office suite, excel in particular
7-10 years of business experience
Extensive experience building budgets and forecasting
Experience working in an environment with multiple profit centers and operating in a multi-state environment
Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions
MBA in business, finance or a related field preferred
CPA certification preferred
IT oversight in background preferred
Experience in an extreme seasonal environment preferred
SharePoint knowledge preferred
