Sensiba San Filippo is currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller who will be responsible for the financial operations of the firm, to include the implementation of our financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve firm assets and report accurate financial results. The Controller works closely with Finance personnel, departmental heads, and partners. Reports directly to the Managing Partner.
Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience, and 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience at a similar sized firm. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant designation.
Oversee the operations of the Finance department
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage the month-end close process and prepare/review consolidated financial statements.
Plan, organize and coordinate all activities of the general accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial results.
Participate in regular, required audits and reviews with external auditors.
Prepare financial packages and present financial results at Partner meetings.
Prepare and manage the annual budget. Provide recurring and ad hoc financial analysis to support firm initiatives; maintain financial forecasts.
Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance.
Collaborate cross functionally to develop and communicate financial performance drivers, key metrics and current and future revenue and cost trends to Partners.
Develop, implement, and maintain finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures. Ensure timely client billing and collections.
Implement new accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in internal policies.
Process/Manage A/P, A/R, Collections and review bi-weekly payroll entries timely.
Manage benefit contributions such as 401k, flexible spending and insurance accounts.
Manage and administer Commissions and Incentive/Bonus program.
Assist in maintaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to run the business.
Supervise and train direct reports in A/P, A/R and Cash Application.
Participate as member of firm committees as required (Operations, 401k)
Monitor expenditures and coordinate approval of requests for funds.
Implement operational best practices
Participate in acquisition due diligence and negotiations
Ensure that the company complies with all legal, regulatory and reporting requirements
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
