The Controls Engineer position is responsible for providing electrical / controls engineering support for the New Albany, IN facility. The Controls Engineer works on capital projects and strategic production initiatives while working with safety, sanitation, regulatory codes, environmental and electrical / controls projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Assist in leading the electrical / controls technology strategy for processing and packaging.
-Offer production support and troubleshooting assistance to Operations, Maintenance and Quality. Bring a strong “hands on” approach to manufacturing issues.
-Work in conjunction with systems engineering and operations to conduct unit operation studies and gap analysis to gain system knowledge, improve system utilization and reduce overuse.
-Development and execution of system productivity improvements and cost savings initiatives that support the business objectives and system specific improvement plans.
-Responsible for manufacturing and engineering requirements on capital projects considering such factors as system performance safety, sanitation, regulatory codes, environmental and applicable manufacturing standards.
-Determine technology / performance improvements and lead implementation of changes
-Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
-Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
-Additional tasks as assigned.
-Provides support to Shift Electrical Supervisor and Electronic Specialists.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited ABET four-year college or university, with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
