Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing comprehensive Controls applications for gas turbine based packages. Position requires working with the Controls Operation Leads, and the Product Line Leads to develop controls application software and functional descriptions for global customers.
This position requires working with or access to export controlled material. Candidate must be able to meet requirements for export controlled access.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, in this role you will:
  • Own, develop, update and improve standard processes and procedures
  • Develop new Controls application descriptions, specifications and narratives
  • Work with cross functional team to overcome technical challenges
  • Apply engineering principles for the purpose of design, application, support and implementation of controls for GE Gas Turbine packages
  • Provide technical support to Installation & Commissioning technicians for the purpose of eliminating problems encountered during startup of gas turbines
  • Support customer (internal and external) meetings with a firm technical understanding of the product line
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Design and execute test protocols for Control Systems under development
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science

    Desired Characteristics
  • Good understanding of technical documentation and structure
  • Able to understand engineering technical documents and specification
  • Previous successful contract work with GE in Aero Controls
  • Experience working with a global team
  • Master of Engineering
  • Experience in an engineering role involving industrial control systems platforms
  • Experience with Woodward controls system such as Micronet and Netcon
  • Familiarity with Proficy Cimplicity HMI software or other industrial HMI software packages
  • Experience with networking and communication configuration of HMIs for Gas Turbine packages
  • Experience with GE Speedtronic controllers such as Mark 6 and Mark 6e
  • Experience with GE Fanuc controllers such as RX3i/RX7i, 90-70/90-30 and programming software such as Proficy Machine Edition and LogicMaster
  • Experience with Gas Turbine packages or other of Industrial Controls applications
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • PC proficiency with gas turbine control system and application software
