Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering preferred)
Minimum Experience: 5+ years experience developing controls
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
Material Handling Equipment (MHE): AXIOM and AL5010 Accu-Sort scanners; sorters, merges and photo-eyes
Conveyor Control System (CCS)
Ladder logic programming
RSLogix – 5, 500 and 5000
Control panel design
Specifying power conversion experience
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
Print and Apply and Weigh-in-Motion
A Reddwerks Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes within warehouse distribution centers. Controls Engineers need a thorough understanding of the operational processes of Reddwerks and have a truly multidisciplinary role, working closely with colleagues across a number of functions, including operations, purchasing and design.
Designing and developing new control systems
Maintaining and modifying existing systems
Working collaboratively with design and software engineers, mechanical/hardware team, project managers and purchasing team
Liaising with clients, suppliers, and vendors
Project management within cost and time constrained environments
Troubleshooting and problem-solving
Understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable H&S and quality standards
Consulting with hardware team regarding advice and consultancy support
Liaise and consult with purchasing and hardware
Writing computer software
