Test and troubleshoot controls of plastic injection molding machinery and related automation.
Program and document programs for programming logic controllers, electronic operator interface devices, variable frequency drives, and similar programmable control hardware.
Responsible for the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes to support general growth and capacity.
Required to comply with all outlined safety procedures and guidelines and expected to drive and uphold first class standards in safety guarding, integrated safety devices and other employee safety initiatives.
Participates with manufacturing and process engineering in evaluating reliability data and helps to achieve improvements in equipment downtime and improve equipment utilization.
Coordinates drafting, submission, approval and implementation of capital projects.
Issues regular status reports in established format.
Helps establish and implement cost reduction efforts with manufacturing.
Works with R&D and manufacturing to help introduce and scale up new products and processes based on current equipment capabilities.
Ensures adequacy of process controls and measuring equipment to appropriate standards through proper preventive maintenance and calibration standards.
Work with outside vendors to ensure designs are properly executed and schedules maintained.
Assist in mechanical assembly or other production duties to meet expected deliverables
Assist in organizational activities such as physical inventory or inventory adjustments, re-arrangement of work areas and other similar activities
Work with manufacturing leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to controls, automation and electrical problems.
Monitor and improve productivity through the use of Lean Six Sigma or related tools
Ensure regulatory compliance through qualifications and validation. Ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years results-oriented experience in controls, automation and electrical engineering
Must be able to read, update and create industrial wiring schematics and diagrams.
Demonstrated leadership and project managements skills with the proven ability to hit budgets and deadlines
Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, excellent communication skills
Creative thinker; strong analytical and decision making skills
Exceptional track record of dealing with and influencing internal and external customers
Occasional travel may require visiting vendors, OEMs, etc.
