Permanent Controls Product Development Engineer Needed in Middle TN


Responsible for electronics control development related to water heating products, including gas ignition and temperature control systems. Responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the corporate assigned project management system as guide to achieve the objectives of the projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments within area of responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through other project team members.

Conduct Project Identification meetings with Marketing and Senior Management to define the scope of the assigned project.

Provide a written description of the project as defined by Marketing and Senior Management.

Plan and implement an engineering program using the Project Management System as guide to achieve the objectives of the project. Liaison with all departmental contacts as required gaining input when needed, and effectively communicating the status of project activity routinely through scheduled project reviews/reports.

Provide detailed test programs and guidance to assigned lab and CAD personnel in the conductance and documentation of product specific test standards. Evaluate data and make recommendations.

Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

Coordinate activities to efficiently resolve technical developments, rescheduling issues, and engineering design and test problems as they arise.

Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.

Interact with other Engineering Staff to provide input regarding areas of individual expertise.

Prepare project expense estimates and control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget.

Act as liaison between company and respective test agencies.

Provide guidance and assistance to Jr. Project Engineer with their respective project.

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four year college or university in Electrical Engineering.

One to three years of electronic safety controls development experience dealing with gas combustion and temperature control.

Good mathematical, communication, electro mechanical, organizational and problem solving skills required.

Must demonstrate good communication and people skills and actively participate with team members.
