Transform the US marketplace through merchandising excellence
Create and elevate the consumer experience with consumer & customer right product assortments for the Sportstyle/SG Channel.
Establish strategic merchandising direction across categories & key markets addressing optimal product flow, retail pricing, color strategy & sku investment. Define, refine, repeat. Right product, right place, right price, and right time.
Engage with inline & SMU category product plans in all dimensions to maximize the business opportunity and effectiveness.
"Win with the winners" within the tier/channel and ensure opportunities for account differentiation and assortment/product segmentation.
Expand the capacity in the Sportstyle/SG tier/channel.
Collaborate closely with US merchandising team to ensure appropriate levels of segmentation & differentiation exists across channels & tiers.
Elevate and execute the 9 principles of Merchandising.
Edit product assortments to ensure amplification of key products, concepts & stories across categories with a retail end in mind.
Develop the art & science of merchandising. Establish key performance metrics and strategically utilize retail acumen, historical data, marketplace data and information as the basis for sound decision making.
Contribute US territory product inputs and collaborate with the global merch organization.
Participate fully and accomplish deliverables in all milestone product and commercial meetings.
Business Leadership, Management and Channel Development
Elevate and drive the go to market strategy
Identify, prioritize, resource, create strategies & actions against opportunities in the market.
Drive action against Footwear opportunities & strategic priorities, both in-line, Evergreen, Carry Over and SMU's, to maximize the Footwear Business.
Interface with US Sales and key retailers on a regular basis through presentation of product, new channel opportunities, segmentation strategies, merchandising plans and strategic delivery programs.
Provide support to and partner with the Senior Merch Manager-SS/SG, as needed, with decision making related to SS/SG channel overall.
Personal Skill Development
This position will be required to participate in ongoing skill development in areas of direct responsibility, particularly in regards to team integration, merchandise management and overall product management skills.
Utilize Nike U/Merch tools to develop professional skills, as needed.
5+ years work experience within the global consumer goods and/or retail environment, with knowledge of or experience within global sports fashion or athletic footwear and/or apparel required.
Ability to create and maintain analytical management tools for business tracking,
development, merchandising, SKU performance, gross margin optimization and varied product / channel / customer analysis.
