This position is trained to work in the scullery and these duties are washing dishes for the Main Kitchen, will also be trained to work 2nd shift at the Employee Café’. These hours are 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The normal hours for this position are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This position performs related duties as required by the Kitchen Manager or N.S. Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Knowledge of preparing, freezing, storing and rethermalizing foods in quantity lots, knowledge of cooking times, temperatures, and considerable knowledge of sanitation principles. Must have the ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and able to follow standardized recipes and planned menus, as well as follow oral and written instructions. The ability to read, interpret computer print outs, and knowledge of modified diets. Ability to drive and back the delivery trucks into the loading dock areas, (using only mirrors). Also must be able to operate lift gate on the food trucks. This position is trained to work the grill and cashier position at the Café on 2nd shift.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
