This position works in the main kitchen, preparing a variety of food for 300 plus residents, 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. The applicant should have knowledge of special diets and diet consistency changes to prepare a variety of foods (according to a cycle), menus, production sheets and standardized recipes. This is a team leader position in a fast-paced environment.
Work schedule: First Shift 5:30am-2 pm Monday- Friday and work every other weekend.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Applicant should have previous experience operating various kitchen equipment in the preparation of meats, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces salads and baked goods using various cooking techniques. Experience in large volume health care facility is preferable. Must have the ability to use good judgment and initiative. Must have high sanitation standards.
Physical Requirements (ADA): Ability to withstand temperature extremes, heavy lifting, bending and standing on feet for long periods.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to two years of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
