The Cook III is an integral part of the Intermountain Team. They contribute to the extraordinary care of patients and customers by providing delicious and appetizing meal selections. The Cook III is responsible for the preparation and serving of foods for patients, cafeteria, and special functions and for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality food production, and portion control to ensure food is served in an attractive manner. The Cook III must estimate accurate food quantities needed to meet menu requirements and adjust to the changing demands in the cafeteria in a timely manner. In addition the Cook III will has some supervisory and clerical responsibilities. Through their knowledge of quantity food production and cleaning methods, the Cook III is able to effectively prepare menu items following standard recipes. Through their excellence and dedicated efforts they ensure our healing commitments are met.
Trains or supervises work of other employees.
Orders, maintains, and organizes supplies.
May prepare large quantities of food using Cook/Chill methods and equipment.
Understands modified diets and prepares modified recipes using appropriate techniques.
Assists in recipe development and uses standardized recipes.
Assures compliance with HACCP and applicable standards.
Maintains an organized and sanitary working environment.
Accurately forecasts quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product.
Ensures equipment is maintained and functioning properly and safely.
Performs quantity food production.
Prepares display cooking.
May assist in other areas of food production

Shift Details This position will be spent cooking 25 hours and admin/office work 10-15 hours. Will work closely with chef.
Three years experience in quantity food production
Read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Customer service skills
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Ability to follow instructions
Basic math skills
Food Handler's Permit as required by county
ServSafe Certification required within 90 day
