Summary of Job Duties

Responsible for preparing menu food items for patient and cafeteria; following directions out lined in standardized recipes. Communicates with the supervisor if there is a need for a substitution and prepares a substitution approved by a registered dietitian. Supports the observed and requested needs of the patient tray line and cafeteria hot deck. Performs duties with consideration of individual religious, cultural, and ethnic sensitivity. May be involved in the preparation and testing of new or revised recipes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Ability to correctly and consistently follow instructions written in a recipe

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with prioritization of duties

Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English

Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Bilingual English and Spanish desirable
