The Coordinator for Asian Community Outreach will act as an overall coordinator between the hospital and the Asian community. Work with the Director to participate in different community events when needed such as health fairs, health education lectures and screenings. Assists in the supervision of Chinese volunteers and interpreters in the office. Provides support and service for walk-in patients for any medical related issue in the medical center. Offers support to the Assistant Director for Daily referrals from the Asian community.
REQUIRED LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
-Communication: Moderate written and verbal skills are needed to support the referral service.
- Customer Service Management: Strong Customer Service and communication skills to assist patients who wish to obtain services at Maimonides without speaking English.
- Referrals Network: Assist with the referral services for the Asian community.
College Degree in Business, Public Health or health-related field is preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 year experience in medical related fields.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good organizational skills.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; knowledge of a second language Cantonese/Mandarin is required.
