Compliance Coordinator

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Aggregate District Manager, the Compliance Coordinator will monitor company compliance of various local, state and federal regulations, as well as company policies. This position will also have a dotted line to the Human Resource Manager and interact with employees, managers and other Human Resource associates with the purpose of administering HR functions.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Oversee the Kronos time tracking system, monitor vacation days, absences, tardies, and act as backup for manager on vacation or traveling.

Full knowledge of Washington Prevailing Wage regulations, cross train and act as a backup for other that oversee the day-to-day PW task, and perform periodic audits for compliance.

Process hourly new-hire employee data, background checks, schedule drug screens / physicals and assist with the on-boarding process, etc.

Track the recruiting requisition process using Taleo for salaried positions, pre-screen candidates, prepare offer packets, assist with the on-boarding process, etc.

Maintain recruitment roster, create internal job postings and newspaper employment ads.

Track employee discipline history and ensure compliance with CBA and Cemex policy guidelines.

Maintain DOT Driver Files, Medical Card & CDL expiration dates, and annual updates.

Assist in managing fleet vehicle roster, maintain pool vehicle keys, and schedule maintenance.

Knowledge of union contract administration, interpretation, grievance procedure.

Process employee requests such as address changes, tax form changes, leave requests, etc.

Maintain confidential employee files, applicant data flow log, track disciplinary action forms & policy acknowledgements, etc.

Regularly update employee bulletin boards with required postings.

Code and submit invoices for payment.

Provide documentation to respond to unemployment claims.

Communicate HR processes and procedures with workforce and assist in the implementation of new programs and policies.

Compiling and generating reports, spreadsheets, presentations and correspondence as needed.

Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

Must work closely with employees, managers, VP/GM, HRIS Admin, Benefits Dept & Payroll.

Manage building entry access, keys, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification:
At least 3 years of administrative experience

High School Diploma or GED

Prior HR experience or at least some exposure to HR procedures is strongly desired

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint

Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently or with a team

Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking

Normal office environment

Some overnight travel required

Qualifications
