Panera Bread is looking to hire a passionate, community-minded individual interested in making a difference in the fight against hunger in America. The Donations Coordinator would be part of Panera's Societal Impact Initiatives team. The ideal candidate will have a non-profit background, a passion for giving back and a desire to launch a career in corporate citizenship.
The Donations Coordinator will oversee and manage the execution of Panera's Day-End Dough-Nation program and Event Donation program (for all company-owned bakery-cafes), as well as contribute to additional projects related to fighting food insecurity.
Lead day to day management and execution of the Day-End Dough-Nation program (donating all unsold bread and baked goods in each cafe) including:
Assist existing bakery-cafes with filling "open nights"
Help new bakery-cafes establish Day-End Dough-Nation partners for each night before the cafe opens
Act as liaison between the bakery-cafe management team and Day-End Partner when issues arise, and help to ensure there is a timely resolution
Provide recommendations to maximize efficiency of program as warranted
Work with the Tax Department to ensure it has all necessary items for auditing purposes, and provide updated contact information on a yearly basis
Send monthly status reports to the Field Marketing team
Lead day to day management and execution of the one-time Event Donation program including:
Review, sort, and respond to product/certificate donation requests (primarily electronic) from customers
Respond to all inquiries including emails and phone calls from customers about the donation program
Oversee the local markets product donation budgets, report expenses to the Accounting team, and sign off on product donation transactions
Export a weekly mailing of certificates and send to customers
Work with vendors to ensure that online system is running effectively
Provide assistance when needed as special projects arise
1-2 years of experience working in nonprofit organizations preferred (particularly interested in candidates with experience fighting local hunger)
True passion for philanthropy and making a difference within the community
Proficiency in MS Office products
Effective time management skills and an ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Some accounting experience preferred
