Save the Children
This position plays a critical role supporting the Member Resource Coordination (MRC) team across all areas of operations as part of Save the Children US’ (SCUS) strategy to grow and strengthen newer/smaller Save the Children Members around the world. The Coordinator is responsible for all financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, allocation, tracking and reporting of incoming and outgoing funds. The Coordinator supports fundraising through communications, stewardship, research and writing projects delegated by team leads on Individual Giving/Child Sponsorship, Corporate/Foundation, and Health & Nutrition Team. S/he prepares regular reports, supports planning processes, travel and meeting logistics and other projects as requested. This role requires strong internal coordination with other members of the team, internal SCUS departments, SC Members and Save the Children International (SCI).
Analyze budgets, reports and projections from SC Members and SCI, converting currencies as needed and preparing quarterly allocation reports.
Monitor incoming wire transfers and process outgoing transfers.
Prepare reports and ad hoc analysis of actual vs. plan for expense and revenue.
Support unit budgeting and reforecasting processes
Maintain, update and enhance the internal online presence for Global Child Sponsorship including SCUS’ Savenet, SC International Xtranet and YouTube
Support promotion of Child Sponsorship through developing materials and compiling compelling assets
Implement SC Member appreciation/recognition activities
Provide administrative support to the Global Sponsorship Team for agendas, minutes, meeting coordination and follow-up actions
Assist preparation of quarterly updates on private fundraising progress against plan for SC’s Department of Health and Nutrition
Coordinate with Health and Nutrition’s knowledge manager to update and add resource materials for fundraisers to the online resource hub
Conduct due diligence on new corporate and foundation partners and draft sub grant agreements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, marketing, international development or related field
2-3 years related experience in a cross-functional environment preferred
Experience working in an international context or other overseas experience preferred
Strong networking, teamwork, negotiation/conflict resolution and interpersonal/diplomatic skills
Ability to independently schedule and prioritize multiple projects with a variety of international stakeholders and maintain focus to achieve results
Dexterity with numbers and financial analysis including familiarity and comfort with budgeting, tracking and communication of financial information (such as budget vs. actuals) in reports
Attention to detail and ability to discern discrepancies in financial data
Ability to make things look good on paper and online
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills including ability to be clear and concise
Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Comfortable in fast-paced evolving environment where content of work, key stakeholders, policies, processes and procedures can change frequently
