The Seed Science Center in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Coordinator III. This position will develop and implement a "Seed Knowledge Development and Sharing (SKDS)" program for seed security.

The incumbent will work as a part of a team of experts working in Seed Science Center to facilitate in coordinating and strengthening ISU's Seed Science Center mission. Further, this position will work closely with several national and international agencies, Nongovernmental Bodies, CG centers and other funding agencies to effectively coordinate and execute various SKDS activities to help improve the seed security and contribute to global food security. Additional duties include funding procurement; budgeting and program management; establishing new relationships with various organizations, government bodies and funding agencies; strengthening existing relationships with innovative information and communication platforms; developing and implementing seed innovation systems; and capacity building activities through onsite and virtual learning/training programs. The incumbent will also serve in training and development aspects of the program.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional public relations, leadership skills, and written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively interact with key stake holders. The candidate will also have the ability to develop goals for designing knowledge development and sharing programs, innovative information and communication technology platforms, and international relations. Strong leadership skills will also be needed in order to be effective in this role. Some travel may be required.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences or directly related discipline and 5 years of related experience OR a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences or directly related discipline and 3 years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience totaling 9 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Agricultural Information and Communication Technology or directly related dicipline.

Experience with knowledge base development.

Experience in procuring grants from federal and international agencies.

Experience working with domestic and international clientele in agricultural sciences.

Experience managing research projects.

Salary
Minimum $51,088; commensurate with qualifications

Special Conditions
All accrued vacation must be taken during the term of this appointment. Unused vacation will be forfeited upon resignation or termination from ISU.
